Utility:
The PBS website is very useful, most especially, for teachers who have access to the internet in their classrooms. Fortunately, my school has furnished every classroom with one computer and internet access. Also, teachers at my school are able to use the computer lab when it is available. As a teacher who incorporates technology into my lesson plans, this website has become very useful and has increased my students’ appreciation for the arts. I have also recommended its use to our science and math teachers.
Navigation:
Navigation of the PBS website is favorable. There is no difficulty in locating teaching activities, video programming, or lesson plans. The website is updated and is professionally appealing.
Authorship:
PBS (Public Broadcasting Service) is a non-profit media enterprise. They explain who they are and what their mission is on their website.
Relevance to Education:
The PBS website has become a regular site in my classroom, most especially in my composition classes. Because I teach three different subjects-Composition, Chorus, and Speech-this site has met the needs for all three of my subjects. The website offers a section for teachers in all subject areas. In this teacher section, up-to-date lesson plans, video clips, music, and photos, can be found. Particularly, I have introduced lessons plans relating to journalism and organizing information and ideas.
